Privacy policy
Cristian Rus (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the ftnss mobile application (the “Service”). This policy describes what information the Service may collect, how we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Summary
The Service runs primarily on your device. We do not operate our own servers to store your full health history for browsing by us. To power AI features you enable, limited content may be transmitted to Google Gemini for processing. Purchase verification may be handled by RevenueCat. Below we identify categories of data, collection methods, purposes, and each third party, including links to their privacy terms.
What data the app may collect or process
Depending on what you enter and which permissions you grant, the Service may process:
- Profile and preferences — age, gender, fitness goals, workout preferences, diet type, dietary restrictions, equipment, recovery methods, stress preferences, free-text notes, injury or sickness details you choose to provide.
- Health and fitness data — workouts, activity metrics, sleep, vitals, body metrics, nutrition metrics, and meal logs from Apple Health and data you record in ftnss.
- Calendar data — titles and times of events from calendars you explicitly select, to adapt recommendations around your schedule.
- Location and weather context — approximate city-level location and local weather when you allow location access, to tailor outdoor-related guidance.
- Photos, camera, barcodes, and chat input — meal photos, camera captures, barcode values, and text prompts or questions you send to the in-app AI when you use those features.
- Purchase-related data — information needed to validate and restore subscriptions or purchases (for example via Apple and RevenueCat), such as transaction identifiers; not used for unrelated marketing by us.
How we collect data
- On device — data you type or generate inside the app, and Apple Health data you authorize the app to read, remain available locally for features that do not require cloud processing.
- Permissions — Health, Calendar, Location, Photos, and Camera are accessed only when you grant the corresponding iOS permission and use features that need them.
- Cloud AI — when you choose Gemini by Google as your AI provider (or when a feature requires it), the app may send only information relevant to the active feature and the permissions you allow, so Google Gemini can generate responses. You can limit what is sent by tightening permissions, removing notes, selecting fewer calendars, or avoiding photo and camera analysis where applicable.
- Payments — Apple processes payments; RevenueCat receives the data needed to verify entitlement and restore purchases if you reinstall the app.
How we use data
- Personalizing workouts, nutrition, sleep, and recovery insights based on your goals and available data.
- Scheduling and adapting suggestions using calendar context when enabled.
- Analyzing meals from photos, barcodes, or text when you use those features.
- Providing AI-generated answers to prompts you send in chat.
- Verifying and restoring purchases and subscription status.
- Improving reliability and safety of the Service within the constraints of this policy and your settings.
AI health recommendations. ftnss may use Google Gemini to generate fitness, nutrition, and sleep recommendations from your data. All such responses are produced by an AI model for general wellness only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Accuracy depends on your data and the limits of AI. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to provide the Service with the following partners:
Google Gemini (Google LLC)
What is shared: When you use cloud AI features with Gemini, the app may send prompts and permitted contextual data described above so Google can return generated content. Google processes this under its own infrastructure.
Purpose: Generating personalized workout, nutrition, sleep, and recovery insights and answering your AI requests.
Protection: Google’s handling of data sent to Gemini is governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms for its AI services. We rely on Google’s published commitments for consumers and developers; you should review them to understand retention, security, and regional terms that apply to you.
Google AI terms and privacy information
RevenueCat
What is shared: Purchase and subscription validation data (such as app user identifiers and transaction metadata as implemented by RevenueCat) needed to confirm entitlement and restore access.
Purpose: Verify purchases, manage subscription status, and restore purchases if you reinstall the app.
Protection: RevenueCat provides subscription infrastructure under its privacy policy and security practices. We use RevenueCat so purchase handling meets industry-standard safeguards appropriate for payment-adjacent data.
Apple
Apple provides the operating system, App Store, Apple Health, and (where available) on-device or Private Cloud Compute features. Apple’s handling of your Apple ID, Health data, and purchases is described in Apple’s own privacy materials. Where you use Apple Intelligence features that stay on device or use Apple’s private cloud path, Apple’s terms apply; some analyses may still route through Gemini when you choose that provider or when a feature requires it.
How each permission is used
- Health — personalize sleep, workout, recovery, and nutrition insights from Apple Health data you authorize.
- Calendar — use selected event titles and times to schedule workouts, meals, and recovery around your day.
- Weather & Location — city and weather context for outdoor recommendations when allowed.
- Camera and Photos — meal photos and barcode scans for food analysis when you use those features; such content may be sent to the configured AI provider as described above.
Your control
You choose which permissions to grant in iOS Settings. If you do not want a category of data used for AI personalization, do not grant that permission, remove that data from the app, or disable the related feature.
You can switch the AI provider in the app’s settings where offered. Using Gemini means permitted data may be processed by Google as described above. Apple Intelligence may remain local or use Apple’s private cloud when available, but some features (such as certain photo or barcode analysis) may still require Gemini depending on your configuration and device capabilities.
Retention
Data stored on your device remains until you delete the app or erase it in Health or app settings. Data processed by Google or RevenueCat is retained according to their respective policies and what is required to operate the Service. We do not maintain a separate user database on our own servers for the full contents described in this policy.
